M5 wondered “why do the weeds grow bigger than the plants?”
It just doesn’t seem fair, does it!
It’s all Adam-n-Eve’s fault.
And still we eat silverbeet.

The first strawberries of the season have made it from garden to plate.
These are no ordinary strawberries. They are not even *merely untouched by the birds* strawberries. They are nothing less than Extra-Special Survivor Strawberries.

By lunchtime I’d had enough, but I’m so glad we went back to it for another couple of hours in the afternoon. It’s very satisfying knowing you could not fit one more seed in the garden, no matter how hard you tried!

weekend work plan

move the neighbour’s dog’s pushing over toys compost bins
(the garden spreads further afield!)
buy a trailor load of garden mix, a bag of seedraising mix and a bag of potting mix
distribute garden mix across bottom patch
make two tripods for bottom patch
sow bottom patch with peas (around teepees), potatoes, sweetcorn
fill carefully-saved-but-heretofor-never-used-again pottles with seedraising mix and use [...]
